I am a psychotherapist who has trained extensively in Body-Centered Therapy. My most recent training was with Gay and Kathlyn Hendricks. I have integrated "The Living University" principles into my own work with individuals and groups, helping others to discover essence in themselves and each other.

I want to bring you the ability to pause and presence with your breathing each day. My breath brings me life. My breath connects me with my feelings and essence. My breath moves my energy. My breath creates aliveness. My breath accesses bottled up energy and tension in my body and opens the flow. My breath transforms fear into excitement.

Emerging essence will be found in your heart. It's your passion for being alive and it is contributing to your essence on this planet. Why do I do this? My own wound of not connecting with my mother at birth created a search. I looked for essence; finding it, as a child, in nature and in others. I discovered that love is everywhere and in everyone. This connection with essence feels like a warm, glowing center of energy within me. It is my radiance. It is your radiance.

I recently wrote a poem about my essence:

I am the fire of the earth.
I am the strength of the oak tree.
Trusting essence flows through my branches,
resting a fly with purple wings.
I am the song and the spirit of the eagle,
resting and soaring in radiant aliveness...

I began my career as an elementary teacher. I also taught yoga and life skills. My experience as a therapist began in 1990 when I became licensed as a M.F.C.C. I received my Masters Degree in Psychology from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California. I have been in private practice for ten years throughout California and Oregon. My work has expanded into facilitating couples and groups, as well as individuals, in creating conscious loving. I am trained in hypnosis and EMDR (Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing). These techniques are sometimes needed to reprocess old destructive belief structures or old patterning, helping you accept a healthier belief system. I like to call it re-patterning and re-parenting.

As a Body-Centered Therapist, I specialize in whole-body learning through breath and movement. The body remembers, and can free up energy for more aliveness.

I have now graduated from "The Living University" at the Hendricks Institute in Santa Barbara, California. Gay and Kathlyn Hendricks are the authors of many books, such as, At the Speed of Life, Conscious Loving, The Ten Second Miracle. My work with the Hendricks has impacted my life, my aliveness and my ability to contribute my essence helping others to find their own radiance.

In conclusion, I want to teach you the tools to:
connect with your own organic flow of breath.
find your passion for being alive.
create conscious relationships at home or at work.
help you discover who you really are and what you really want to contribute to this planet.

"Only when the clamor of the outside world is silenced will you be able to hear the deep vibration. Listen carefully. Spirit is playing your song." That is from a book I am reading now, and I cannot think of anything that better sums up what Betty has given me in the last two years. Her unique way of showing me how to listen to my inner self has changed my life. She has given me the ability to trust in myself, and in others; and she has shown me how to find my voice again, after a lifetime of silence. Thank you Betty...seems barely enough to cover the gifts I have received, but that is all she would accept. So, from the very depths of my essence...thank you Betty!
